First published in 1887 in Devonport (then called Formby), the North-West
Post concentrated its news gathering around the areas from Penguin to
Devonport and inland township such as Sheffield, Gawler, Sprent, Sassafras &
Latrobe.
It consists mostly of local news and focuses on people and
local advertising. Included in these publications is information taken from
paid notices of births, deaths and marriages, obituaries, descriptions of
weddings, removals from the district and descriptive articles by news
reporters visiting country districts.
The index provides sufficient
information to identify an individual but as with all indexes, the original
entry should then be viewed.
